Hörmann’s solid timber sectional doors are available in two designs. The S-boarded version is crafted to produce a relief of four horizontal boards per section. The result is a sectional door of great character and precision. The design can be chosen in Nordic Pine or Hemlock to suit your preferences and style of house. Nordic Pine is light-coloured with a variety of knots and grain features that create its distinct character. Hemlock is a darker timber with characteristic brown mineral stripes along the grain and bark pockets. A matching design of side door is available in both timbers to create a uniform look to your garage.

Operating Gear

The sectional design on Hörmann’s doors are ideal for the modern décor, and can be the perfect operating gear for alternative architecture that incorporates a different style access for garages, such as semi-circular or archway entrances, as the sectional panels are fitted behind the front wall, not within the frame. The panels are lifted elegantly towards the ceiling and are designed to store neatly when fully raised to keep them locked in position.

Materials and Finish

Hörmann’s Timber sectional garage doors are precision engineered from interlinked sections of solid Pine or Hemlock. Careful selection of timber and finely crafted construction produces a strong, durable and articulated garage door. The timber is pre-treated to protect it from insect and fungal attack. It is essential to apply a finishing coat to protect the timber from UV rays and maintain its good looks. Regular re-treatments are required to maintain this protection.

Automation

Hörmann sectional doors use the same electric operator kits as up and over retractable doors. They require programming to ‘recognise’ the type of door they are operating with. Hörmann’s electric operator kits are summarised in our Automation product descriptions.
