Style & Design
The horizontal ribbed design of sectional doors from Hörmann is available in three widths. The medium width M-ribbed version produces a door leaf of two horizontal ribs per sections. The precise profiling produces a strong and simple garage door with a contemporary feel. There is a choice of single double skinned construction. The double skinned includes foam to provide greater insulation against heat loss and noise, ideal if your garage is built into your house. The M-ribbed design offers a choice of three finishes and a wide range of colour choices to match your personal requirements. It also has nine different options of aluminium or steel handle finishes completing your ‘look’. All ribbed designs are also available with a row of windows in a clear or crystal glazing options.

Operating Gear

Hörmann sectional operating gear is engineered for smooth, quiet and safe operation. Continuous tracks enable the door section to open vertically – pass round a curve - and then travel suspended into the garage space. This operation means you can make full use of your garage and drive space for parking vehicles. You also get the full drive through width of the garage as sectional doors can be mounted behind the opening. The construction also fits a range of different garage shapes effectively – including curved and arches.

Materials and Finish

Hörmann’s steel sectional garage doors are precision engineered and manufactured from interlinked sections of galvanised steel. The M-Ribbed door has a choice of three sections: single skin, double skinned with insulation (42/20mm) or double skinned with insulation (42mm). The construction produces a choice of strong, durable and articulated garage door with different weights and insulation properties. The galvanised steel is pre-treated and single skin sections finished in a Woodgrain embossed surface. Double skinned sections can be finished in a choice of three types. Decograin^® is a synthetic foil coating with an embossed surface to create the appearance of Golden Oak or Mahogany woodgrain. Silkgrain^® is a smooth finish that is particularly easy to clean. The Woodgrain embossed surface produces a robust texture with a sawn timber feel that makes it easy to repair minor scratches.

Automation

Hörmann sectional doors use the same electric operator kits as up and over retractable doors. They require programming to ‘recognise’ the type of door they are operating with. Hörmann’s electric operator kits are summarised in our Automation product descriptions.
