Cardale Thornley Heritage

Style & Design
Cardale’s Thornley is a distinctive panel design that uses chamfer detailed and shaped Cedar mouldings to good effect. It has a lower row of square panels; a middle row of rectangular panels; and a top row of arched panels. A single door has twelve panels in this arrangement and double sizes use a pair of these. With its choice of finishes and handles the Thornley can be matched to a wide range of personal preferences and house styles.

Operating Gear

Cardales range of doors are designed for ease of operation using one of two types of “up and over” operating gear. Safelift Canopy (Trackless) employs no horizontal tracks protruding into the garage with the whole mechanism mounted to the fixing frame. When opened, one third of the door remains outside the opening to form a canopy. Slideaway gear allows the door to retract fully into the garage space on horizontal tracks. Maximiser Slideaway gear for single doors employs cranked arms at wing mirror height to allow extra drive thru width. 

Materials and Finish

Cardale’s Timber Heritage garage doors are manufactured by hand from solid Cedar face mouldings on premium quality external plywood. The construction technique produces a range of traditional timber panel door designs on an aluminium or steel chassis that braces the door panel. Heritage garage doors are supplied in a basecoat timber treatment or fully finished in a choice of Light Oak, Mahogany, Walnut or Burnt Oak. Regular timber treatments are required to preserve timber doors and keep them looking their best.
