Style & Design
Hörmann’s Leicester is a variation on the theme of a traditional pair of part-glazed garage doors. A pair of vertically boarded timber panels sits beneath a six pane window. These highlight the door’s appearance and allow daylight into the garage, even when the door is shut. Plain, Crossed or Diamond glazing options are offered for these windows in clear or stippled Perspex. Matching side garage doors with the same window options are available.

Operating Gear

The two options of lifting gear have been designed around accessibility. Single doors are customarily fitted with a canopy operation, with minimalist running gear to allow no-fuss parking and to have the door opened and closed quickly for added security. For double doors, the standard fitting is retractable gear, which has an extra set of rails to pull the door completely inside the garage. This is especially useful for peace of mind against vehicle damage or accidental injury.

Materials and Finish

Hörmann’s timber garage doors are made from solid tongue and grooved Cedar in most cases. A galvanised and powder coated steel frame supports the timber – leading to a very strong and secure garage door. The quality of the joinery and attention to detail reflect Hörmann’s commitment to produce doors engineered for durability, reliability and safety. The timber is pre-treated and can be fully finished in a choice of colours: Ebony, Dark Oak, Golden Oak, Light Oak, Medium Oak, Mahogany, Rosewood, Teak or Walnut. Regular re-treatments are recommended to preserve the timber and its good looks.
